Resolution problems

I changed my resolution in options and then restarted the game, then I received the Black Screen of Death. I restarted the computer...nothing, I uninstalled the game and reinstalled...nothing.

How can I change the resolution back to default, without going into the game?

System info:
GalCiv2 version- 1.4

Windows XP pro
Conroe E6600 Core 2 Duo// (Processor)
e-Geforce 512mb 7900 GTO// (Video card)
1024 PC6400 DDR2-800// (Ram)
Asus P5B-E// (Mother board)

Either edit or delete Prefs.ini (located in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2).

You can specify the correct resolution in that file (default is 1024x768), and if you delete it the game will create a new Prefs.ini file with default settings the next time you start the game.
